My Story

I was first introduced to the world of real estate when my mother bought her first property to flip in the 70′s. By the 80′s my brother and I were my mother's very own painting company. We would go into the flip house and strip wallpaper, putty holes up and sand any imperfections and then paint the whole house white! 10 gallons of white paint, sand paper, putty and moulding is what it took to make any home look better. Eventually we focused on restoring heritage houses, this is where I truly fell in love with Real estate. Being able to take a home that was worn down and then make it into its former self was very rewarding.


Later on, my brother became a Realtor and I became a licensed mortgage broker. We both excelled and became top producers. A few years later I decided to move on to being a realtor too and joined my brother at Remax. My mother also became a realtor making us a family of Realtors!


Shortly after moving to Courtice, I purchased my first flip house in Pickering. It was the experiences I went through in the selling of my flip house that made me decide that I needed to become a Realtor once again.


I could not find a single Realtor who would give a discount of 1% on the listing fee (remember as a house flipper you buy and sell multiple homes each year, thus makes you what is known as a “whale”). At first I thought I would just buy and sell my own houses, and then when the economy started to stall, I again thought about how I could not find any discount Realtors and how much people need a break during these tough financial times.


I understand that selling a home doesn’t just mean getting a listing and presenting offers. Selling a home begins with the first conversation that discovers what can be done to sell the home for it’s top price. It is about how to prepare the house and how to market the house. Most importantly it is about being able to negotiate the homes agreed top price.
