Description

Fully upgraded, it is a nimble but fragile tank, so staying mobile and performing hit-and-run attacks is essential. Other than its speed, something unique to this tank at this tier is the semi-automatic gun. This gun has a 5-round magazine and functions the same way as the French autoloaders. They can fire their whole magazine in quick succession, but then have a long reload time for next five rounds. Remember, every tank the T1 Cunningham encounters will have more armor, so try to avoid drawn-out slugging matches.

Strengths

Very high burst damage from 37 mm Semiautomatic Gun M1924 can kill every tier 1 tank if all shells hit the target.

Good magazine capacity.

Fast reload on 37 mm Gun M1916.

Poor aim time and gun elevation.

No longer gets the powerful 20mm autocannon or the Browning since update 9.14.

Research Order

Research the 37 mm Semiautomatic Gun M1924, as it has better penetration, a higher rate of fire, and is more accurate than the starting gun. It is also the only thing you can research at this tier, besides the next tier tank.

Description

Shorter and smaller than its tier 2 cousin, the T2 Medium Tank, the M2 Light Tank has many of the same stats plus a much more powerful engine. The M2 is one of the fastest tier 2 tanks and is decently armored. It has a bit of difficulty in tight spaces, but in the open it is very fast. Its speed is best used to exploit the sluggishness of other low tier tanks. With great view range for a tier 2 tank, small size, high top speed and good maneuverability (especially with a trained crew) this tank makes a great scout regardless of tier - and is very underestimated by many higher tier players.

 

Strengths

Good acceleration and top speed.

High ammunition capacity.

Decent gun choice.

Decent armor for tier II, but angling it correctly is a must.

 

 

Weakness

Poor accuracy on all guns.

Low tank traverse speed.

Fairly tall for a light tank.

With the upgraded turret you will bounce some shots but it is still smart to face your enemy and try to stay hidden.

Description

The T2 Light Tank is a very fast tank, with a top speed of 72 km/h and one of the highest hp/ton ratings of any tank in game. It has a fairly weak gun and poor armor though, with the second weakest rear armor of any tank. Its use as a deep penetration scout is limited by its short radio range. The only way to play this tank is to never stop and try to engage the enemy by circling, but beware that it has a large turning radius at speed so you'd better plan ahead as you approach. Its light weight means it takes heavy damage when rammed, usually tracking it and often outright killing it.

 

Strengths

Great power to weight ratio and top speed, one of the fastest tanks in game.

Gun has decent handling and good burst damage.

Good gun elevation/depression and small turret profile, can hull-down.

Small size and good camouflage, good at passive scouting.

No longer matched in Tier IV battles.

 

 

 

Weakness

Poor armor.

Limited penetration, some heavier vehicles are hard to pen, special ammo required sometimes.

View range is poor, active scouting can be difficult.

Very light in terms of weight, ramming is a death sentence.

 

 

 

Weak spots

This tank has practically no armor. Don't expect to bounce shots, because your armor is made out of paper. Try to avoid 1 on 1 duels with other medium or better armored light tanks, because you are likely to die very fast. Use your speed to your advantage to circle enemies to get their weaker sides and rears.

Description

The T1E6 at Tier II is a later and more advanced version of the T1 Cunningham available at Tier I. Players accustomed to the T1 will find that the T1E6 behaves similarly. The T1E6 is a typical light tank, with great speed, acceleration, and maneuverability. Its armor is thin, and will only protect the tank from occasional machinegun fire at certain angles. The T1E6 may be a typical light tank in these regards, but its poor view range will prevent it from being an effective scout like some other lights.

Description

Predominant among the T7's strong points is its high burst damage. A single clip of ammo carries a potential damage of 400 average hit points. With a rate of fire of roughly 454 rounds per minute when loaded, the T7 is capable of dealing this damage in just under 5.5 seconds. When firing, the T7's dispersion does not fly wildly and has a quick reload time, meaning that at close ranges, its shots are fairly accurate, enhancing the burst damage. This burst damage comes at the cost of reload time. It takes roughly 24 seconds to load a new clip, and during this time the tank is left completely defenseless due to its lack of armor. In addition, the T7's M2 machine gun has very poor penetrating ability and can only fire regular AP rounds, rendering it ineffective at long range. Against well-armored tanks such as the T18, it can only penetrate the rear armor. Against a fully-upgraded D1 or H35, it is virtually useless, and can only penetrate the top armor.

Description

The tank has reasonable armor for its tier, and the upgraded 37mm gun is fast and accurate. However, when placed in higher-tier battles, it will face better armed and armored opposition. Speed and stealth are the keys to survival for light tanks; the M3 excels in both. Upgrade your suspension and engine and keep your movements unpredictable as you exploit the enemy's flanks, or race to a good hiding spot and help out your artillery and snipers by spotting the enemy as they advance. Avoid long drawn-out, stand-still shooting matches.

 

Strengths

The drivers hatch is on the front of the tank and almost 90 degrees vertical so easy to pen.

 

Research Order

The 20 mm Hispano-Suiza Birgikt Gun and the 37 mm Gun M5 carry over from the M2 Light Tank, as well as the SCR 506 radio if you researched it.

First research the Continental W-670 and the Continental R-975-C1 engines.

Next research the upgraded suspension for a large improvement in traverse speed.

Now research the second turret and the 37 mm Gun M6.

Be sure to research the SCR 506 if you haven't by now.

Description

The Locust is a fast and small tank, reaching its top speed of 64kph pretty quickly regardless of terrain. Differences with its German counterpart, the T-15, include higher penetration, while being much less maneuverable and having a somewhat lower view range. Thus it's not capable of driving in tiny circles at full speed. However, Improved Ventilation, a fully trained crew, and some driving experience with this tank can help neutralize these drawbacks.

 

Strengths

Good combination of high hit points for this tier, hp/ton ratio and a generous top speed.

Good penetration for its tier with cheap APCR ammo.

Good accuracy on the move, aim time, turret traverse speed and elevation arc and view range.

Camo values nullify over a fifth of the enemy's view range and even when seen, the Locust's small size makes it hard to hit.

 

Weakness

Poor agility combined with a low protection means you must avoid getting shot at whenever possible.

Ammo storage is easily hit and running out of ammo in the middle of a match is a very possible scenario.

Poor signal range, its role as an active scout is limited.

Description

The first double barrel gun in the game (no longer usable). It has the best armor of all tier 3 premium light tanks. It also has the best gun depression but has the lowest damage per minute yet it has the best penetration. This tank is a unique light tank, best played as a mid range scout and it can work well in close quarters, just make sure you have other tanks near you because of the low damage per minute.

 

Strengths

Good mobility makes this tank a perfect flanker for fast elimination of enemies

2 guns can deal 80 damage in no time, also decent penetration

12° of gun depression allow this tank to do a great job on hills

38 mm of frontal armor (turret and hull) can be effective when angled properly

Turret traverse of 45,89 (°/sec) and 1,64 sec. aim time, very good gun handling

 

Weakness

Low DPM for its burst capability

No preferred matchmaking

Poor radio range and subpar view range, you won't wander very far from teammates

 

 

Weak spots

Even though this has the best armor of tier 3 premium lights, there are still plenty of tanks that can pen your armor, so always try to angle when engaged with the enemy.

Description

Due to its battle tier placement, this tank is relegated to a scouting role. This tank is not completely defenseless, but as it cannot stand against enemy fire, you should harass the enemy with hit and run tactics. This tank can win in a dogfight with pretty much any other tier 4 light, destroy almost any arty it will come up against, and seriously annoy anything else. If you can force the enemy's attention away from your allies, their jobs will be much easier and you will have greatly contributed to team victory. You are a very small target with passable view range, a good radio and extremely good mobility, making active scouting possible.

Strengths

Good top speed and maneuverability.

Good turret traverse speed.

Good view and signal range.

The top gun has great gun depression, aim time and dispersion stats.

Small chunk of spaced armor near the turret machine gun.

 

Weakness

The 37mm Gun T16 is one of the only 2 fully-automatic cannons in game, depletes clip on click, high probability of missing its target.

Due to subpar accuracy and very quick in-clip reload, latter shots in a clip would scatter wildly.

Poor hull and turret armor.

Lowest penetration of all tier 4 light tanks.

Pitiful alpha damage.

 

 

Weak spots

You have to be careful with this tank, it looks like it has good armor but if you don’t angle your tank you will get penned often.

 

Research Order

The Continental R-975-C1 engine and the SCR 506 radio carry over from the M3 Stuart and should be installed immediately.

As a scout, your primary objective is to light up enemy players, not try to kill them, therefore it is recommended that you research the VVSS T36E8 suspension first.

The 37 mm Gun T16 autoloading gun is next and is needed to unlock the next module, the M5A1 turret which has more armor and an increased view range.
